BREAKING: 24 PART 2 CONFIRMED!

The trailer, teaser and the first look posters of 24 featured Suriya as a paraglider. The film however doesn’t showcase the paragliding sequence. Intrigued by this when we contacted the film’s editor Prawin Pudi and asked him about the missing scenes, this is what he had to say “In the film, paragliding is Mani’s (Suriya) hobby. It initially featured an intro scene for Mani where he is paragliding as part of National Day celebrations which got cut due to time constraints. It would probably feature in 24 part 2”.

24 part 2? Is the project confirmed? We asked him. “Yes, such a project is planned” was his reply. The director Vikram K Kumar shared a post through his Facebook profile titled “24 Decoded” which had details of sequences in the movie that serve as a link for its sequel. The possibility of Athreya not being killed by Sethu’s gunshot was one such lead discussed in the post. People who have watched 24 closely will be able to confirm that in the visual marking the death of Athreya, only the sound of a gunshot is featured and not the event of the bullet piercing him. And hey! The watch is still working!

24 Story

24 (Suriya's 24 Tamil Movie) is a Tamil family entertainer film written and directed by Vikram Kumar. The film features Suriya and Samantha in the lead roles.
24 Story In Detail
‘24’ is the story of a watch, with which the owner can travel to the past and future and control the time.
Sethuraman (Suriya) is a brilliant scientist who creates a watch that could manipulate time. He calls it Project 24. However, his twin brother Athreya (Suriya, again), a dreaded don, wants the watch for himself, and therefore attacks his brother, killing his wife in the process.
Sethuraman escapes with his infant baby, with the villain close on his heels. Knowing that he has no escape, Sethu leaves his baby and his watch in a protective cover with a lady he meets on a train. Athreya catches up with his brother and kills him, but gets incapacitated in the process and goes into a coma for 26 years.
Meanwhile that infant boy grows up to be a strapping young watch mechanic Mani (again Suriya), who, one fine day and a series of coincidences later, open that box containing the watch. Having his father’s intellect in his genes, Mani soon understands the magic of the watch.
He begins to manipulate time to his advantage, especially in hatching a romantic plot with pretty girl, Sathya (Samantha). However, Athreya wakes up from his coma and comes looking for the watch that could help him regain his lost youth. Thus begins a brilliant game of chess between the similar looking protagonist and antagonist with time travel as their chessboard.

We had earlier reported that the shooting of Ajith's 57th film, to be directed by Siva of Veeram and Vedalam fame, will begin soon. It has now been confirmed by a source close to the project that the film will go on floors from July. Ajith, who will be working with Siva for the third consecutive time, will sign on the dotted lines today (May 5th).

"The makers of the film will officially sign the agreement with Ajith on Thursday. The regular shooting will kick-off from July," the source confirmed. Young music sensation Anirudh will join hands with Siva and his team for the second time in a row. The entire technical team of Vedalam is expected to be retained for this project, which will be bankrolled by Sathya Jyothi Films. The film will predominantly be shot in Australia and will be a slick and stylish entertainer, according to a report. It is also said that Ajith might shed a few kilos for the role. Though the makers are yet to make an official announcement regarding the film's cast including its female lead, many speculations pertaining to it have been on the rise in the past few days. While many claim that the high budget project will have two heroines in Tamannaah and Hindi actress Kriti Sanon, sources close to the Siruthai director have requested to wait for an official announcement, adding that the makers are yet to zero in on the female lead and that talks have been initiated with top actresses across various film industries. Meanwhile, veteran producer 'Kalaipuli' S Thanu, who is basking in the success of Ilayathalapathy Vijay's latest release Theri, has expressed his interest to work with the Arrambam star, according to reports. Looks like the producer is eyeing for back-to-back biggies with Rajinikanth's Kabali all set for a worldwide release. Kabali too, is bankrolled by Thanu.

Top Five Reasons to Watch Suriya's '24'

Actor Suriya’s mega budget sci-fi flick ‘24’ is all set to hit the screens tomorrow (May 6) in more than 2,000 screens across the globe. The film has garnered a huge deal of pre-release expectation thanks to the big names in the cast and crew as well as the positive feel created by the teaser, trailer and audio tracks of Oscar Nayagan A.R.Rahman.
There are quite many reasons to catch ‘24’ an experimental project from a star hero like Suriya and here Indiaglitz lists out the Top Five Reasons for why you should not miss watching this Vikram Kumar directorial in theaters.
Suriya as the dreadful Athreya
Suriya is an actor who has garnered respect and affection in the minds of general movie buffs for his variety of roles and stories and also his hard work and dedication to the acting profession. After two back to back commercial ventures ‘Anjaan’ and ‘Massu’ the star is back with ’24’ which despite being marketed as a commercial biggie also has notable scope for experimentation in it.
This is also Suriya’s first triple role flick and the three roles include the dreadful villain character Athreya. Suriya known for getting into the skin of the character is menacing with his getup, gestures and voice for the character and Athreya character is expected to outshine others in the film. He also sports multiple getups that include a wheel chair bound old man.
In short this film is going to be a treat for ardent Suriya fans and also the general audience who respect him for his effective portrayal of diversified characters.
A.R.Rahman’s Music
A.R.Rahman who is a busy music director internationally gets time to do only one or two Tamil films a year. When the ‘24’ script was narrated to Rahman, he immediately accepted after being convinced that it will be an ambitious effect. So the way the double Oscar winner came into the project itself proves that ‘24’ has something extraordinary in it.
After getting into the film Rahman has given super hit songs under various genres and his music is as fresh as ever. From the trailers we could asses that the musical genius would have lifted the film to high levels with his re-recording also. His music certainly is going to be one of the big plusses for such an ambitious film.
Visual Extravaganza
A good script is essential but not the only requirement to make a good film. Whatever you write will be spoilt if you fail to present it in a visually appealing manner. Not all films get this at the right place. Most of the films pass muster in this regard, while a select few films come up as Visual extravaganza like ‘24’.
Cinematographer Tirru aka Tirunavukkarasu has returned to Kollywood after six years with this film and the visuals of the film is one striking aspect that simply wows the viewer in the teaser and the trailer. The selection of locations is going to be another big treat as the film has been shot in some unseen locations such as Poland. The way the songs have been shot is also going to be a huge treat to fans.
Art Direction
Art direction is something that will regularly be noticed and mentioned by critics and audience who take films more seriously beyond entertainment. But ‘24’ has the potential of making Art direction being appreciated by even the regular movie buffs. Art directors Amit and Subrata Chakraborthy who have worked in Bollywood films make their Kollywood debut with this film.
‘24’ as a film has tremendous scope for art directors as the script is such. The sets for time machine and research lab excite us while watching the trailer and the experience of watching them with more details in the film is definitely going to be a never before experience.
Visionary Vikram Kumar
After the super hit horror flick ‘Yaavarum Nalam’, director Vikram Kumar has direct a Tamil film after a gap of 6-7 years. In the meantime he has directed two super hit Telugu films falling under romance and family genres.
The visionary he is, Vikram Kumar has now come up with a genuine product falling under science fiction- a rarely explored genre in Tamil cinema. The combination of this genre, the unusual time travel concept added in the script and the proven adeptness of Vikram Kumar in handling different genres of films efficiently has created the huge expectations for the film right from the word go.
We can be assured that Vikram Kumar will stun us with his ambitious project ‘24’ and will make more number of good films in Tamil as well as other languages.
