Why Amala Paul acting after marriage?

Ahead of her wedding last year, Amala Paul made it clear that she would bid adieu to acting after marriage. But she continues to act in a string of movies, including 'Haiku' with Suriya.

Explaining the reason, her husband and popular director Vijay says, "Except 'Haiku', all the other projects (for which Amala is shooting now) were signed by her before our wedding."

"Amala accepted to be part of 'Haiku' because it is directed by our good friend Pandiraj and has Suriya in the lead," Vijay adds. Meanwhile, the director is busy with 'Idhu Enna Mayam', which hs Vikram Prabhu and Keerthi Suresh in the lead.

Amala Paul spends 30 hours for 30 minutes

From Chennai, Amala Paul travelled all the way to Ballari in Karnataka for a single shot in her next Malayalam movie 'Lailaa O Lailaa', which has Mohanlal in the lead.

"It was the climax scene and Amala had to shoot for just half an hour. She was in Chennai for 'Haiku', and came to Ballary for the 30-minute shoot. She spent nearly 30 hours travelling to and fro, by both road and air," sources said.

It is learnt that the entire crew, including Mohanlal and director Joshiy, were surprised and moved by Amala's gesture. Meanwhile, in Pandiraj-directed 'Haiku', Amala is sharing the screen space with Suriya.
