Vijay learns Chuck Norris' techniques!

Illaya Thalapathi Vijay's 'Puli' is the biggest project currently being shot and the news keeps trickling in by the hour and we are happy to keep the fans updated with every bit of info we receive.  The latest tidbit is that for a war sequence Vijay is learning the four hundred year old martial arts techniques of Thailand and a special trainer has been flown in from that country exclusively to train Vijay. It is to be noted that Kings of Western Asia used to perform these martial arts as early as 1550AD and currently there are very few who know the art.

Other than the Thai people it is said that only exponent of Thai martial arts is Hollywood actor  Chuck Norris, who appeared as the villain opposite Bruce Lee in Return of the Dragon and now it is our very own Vijay who is learning the sacred art.

The sequences are being shot in the forests near Cochin and later to be shifted to Attibelle falls.  Illaya Thilagam Prabhu plays the role of a Rajaguru who trains Vijay to fight his enemy played by Sudeep.

Vijay's Unique effort for Puli!

Vijay has played dual roles in films like ‘Azhagiya Thamizh Magan’ and ‘Kathi’ with amazing ease, but as far as get up and looks are concerned, there were not much to differentiate the two characters  in both the said films.

But in the case of the Chimbu Devan directed ‘Puli’, we hear that Illaya Thalapathy is playing the roles of Father and Son and this time around, he has decided to work on his get up and it is said that he is going to put on weight as well as change voice modulation for the father’s role.

This mega budget fantasy entertainer has Hansika and Shruthi Hassan as the leading ladies, Sudeep as the main antagonist and veterans Sridevi and Prabhu in major roles.  Cinematography by Natty Natraj, Art by T. Muthuraj and  Music by Devi Sri Prasad are the major highlights.  Plans are on to release 'Puli'  on Vijay's birthday which falls on 22nd June

Nayantara Turns Down Vijay 59?

Recently there were reports doing rounds that Nayantara had been roped in to play the leading leading opposite Ilayathalapathy Vijay in his 59th film. But now, looks like the pretty actress has turned down the offer citing her busy schedule.

Vijay 59 will be directed by Atlee who had earlier worked with Nayantara in his first movie, Raja Rani. Since Atlee shared a good rapport with the Arrambam actress, it was speculated that Nayantara had given her nod to work in Vijay 59.

Nayantara who is currently busy with three other projects may not feature in Vijay 59, according to sources close to the actress. The movie will go on floors once Vijay finishes his current project Puli, an action-fantasy being directed by Chimbu Deven.

Vijay 59 is being bankrolled by Kalaipuli S Thanu and has music composed by GV Prakash. The Mayakkam Enna music director recently revealed that the album will have two romantic songs. Vijay's 59th film also happens to be GV Prakash's 50th film as a composer.

Meanwhile, reports suggests that Puli's shooting is being carried out at a tremendous pace and that the team is focused on wrapping up the current schedule as soon as possible. The climax portion of Puli  will be allegedly shot in some never before seen locations in the interior parts of Punjab and Chennai.
